When I was ready to buy my next bike, I didn't consider shopping around for the best deal because I knew no one could match what Brothers could offer. The staff of Brothers HD cares about their customers. I dont just see it in the way they treat me but with anyone who walks through those doors. Even though there are 2 dealerships closer to me, I'd rather make the longer drive to Brothers because they make me and my wife feel like part of their family. "I recently bought a 2009 FXDC from Brothers'. It was my second new bike from Brothers' in 13 years. As is my way, once I put a few hundred miles on it, I brought it in for some customizing and performance enhancement. As was the case many times in the past, the service went very well. My parts selection and service concerns were handled by an excellent, caring staff. I've always felt like family at Brothers'. They take the time to listen to my focus and direction, then suggest parts and service that will meet my expectations without blowing out the budget. They took the time to explain all my options. The service department went out of their way to be sure I was happy with the job. The comfort factor at Brothers' is high. Much of the staff has been there for many years.... Employees are happy at Brothers' and it shows in the quality of service and care we customers receive. I won't get into the nut and bolt details of my recent service but I will say it was extensive. "The issues I overall had with the dealer, was the Service Department. When I took my bike in for a 1K service, I also had the Arlen Ness Forward Control 3" Extension Kit installed. After picking the bike up, after about 25 minutes or riding, I lost all rear brake, pedal straight down did nothing. I noticed minor leaking at the junction box that came with the kit for the rear brake. Upon calling, was told to bring back at earliest possibility. I brought back, was told it was installed incorrectly, meaning backwards and the pipes was heating up the box and causing the fluid not to get to the brakes. Was a little mad and was fixed, but the fact I spent $180 on part, $200 on install, plus the costs of the 1K service, just a little steamed.
At 5K service, which was over $400. Wrong oil filter (a chrome one) was installed instead of an all black one, I have a 2007 FXSTB, stock is black. At this time I expressed sometimes I will be in 3rd gear, and it states 6th gear. Nothing was addressed about this. I also expressed that there was a Safety Bulletin posted for my bike, didnt know anything about it until I brought copy in and then they addressed it. Another issue with one of the cables which I fixed myself.
For the Halloween Bash, I expressed my concerns to the Service Manager, and he gave me an oil filter, but still I would have to drain the oil myself. He stated that he would make up for it on the next thing I came in and done, but I kind of lost faith in the department, and really not sure if it would be honored in some type of deal next time.
Sales Department. Generally pretty good. Although didnt really take me series when I first walked in, but i understand that many people come in and never buy and waste time. So no big deal.
Clothing Department. Overall pretty good. The people working there are great and know their stuff. Prices for HD shirts are generally way too high and they shrink.
Parts Department. Has always been a strong point, stuff usually in stock and only one error ordering parts for me in the past.
